Conservation is the lynchpin of biology. From genes to structures, from functions to pathways, the core principles of biology are conserved between species. Evolutionary Bioinformatics is a new consulting service which leverages the power of evolutionary conservation, integrating genomic, genetic and experimental data from a wide range of organisms to understand human genes and pathways. We use the multi-billion year experiment of evolution to extract key findings from large-scale sequence and experimental data.
Our highest impact work to date has been in the field of protein kinases, where our consultants were part of the Sugen group that discovered and characterized the human kinome. We have applied the same technologies to other protein families, using human and model organism resources, working in the realms of protein sequence and structure, gene expression, and functional ontologies.
We provide consultancy and contract work for the biotech and pharma industry, as well as for a range of academic and institute clients. Please contact us if our services could be of value to you.
